Program overview
Interdisciplinary AP course covering environmental problems; includes class work, laboratory and field work, scientific methods, critical thinking, decision-making, and problem solving. Topics include ecosystems, conservation, natural resources and cycles, energy sources and energy flow, biomes, human responsibilities, and population dynamics. Course is college-level and rigorous. Requires enrollment in AP Classroom by the second week of school. Materials include charged iPad, colored pencils/markers, composition book, scissors, Kleenex, and glue stick. Grading: major grades 70%, daily/lab grades 30%. No test corrections, retests, or extra credit allowed. Late work policy: one class day for a maximum grade of 70.
