Program overview
Course code EC16011. First course of a two-semester series. Topics include nature of science and science safety, history of environmental science, interactions between Earth's systems, ecological interactions, matter and energy flow in ecosystems, biodiversity, populations, adaptations, succession, biogeochemical cycles, and terrestrial and aquatic biomes. Each semester contains 9 units and one final exam; final exam is comprehensive, multiple-choice, online, 3 hours, requires 70% to pass. Required materials include science journal, pencil/pen, calculator (helpful), Internet access, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and Adobe Reader. No textbook required.
