Program overview
Undergraduate STEM students from eligible institutions who are interested in theoretical biological physics, computational biophysics, and hands-on research. No prior biological physics experience is required.
Eligibility
Must be currently enrolled at one of the listed institutions: Bunker Hill Community College, Houston Community College, Lone Star Community College, Prairie View A&M University, Texas Southern University, Roxbury Community College, Sam Houston State University, University of Houston, UH-Clear Lake, or UH-Downtown. Open to undergraduates in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related departments. No prior Biological Physics experience required. Applicants with limited programming experience may be asked to take a free online programming course before the REU and join an in-person workshop before the program begins. · No citizenship requirement stated; international students traveling to Boston may need to complete additional paperwork related to their visa.
