High school and college students seeking transportation-related internships, cooperative education, or need-based grant funding for engineering or TxDOT-approved operational business disciplines.
Eligibility
Conditional Grant: economically disadvantaged per Federal Poverty Guidelines; Texas resident eligible to work in U.S.; minimum cumulative college or unweighted high school GPA of 2.50; plan to attend or currently attending an accredited four-year Texas public or private college/university as a full-time student; declare intent to seek a four-year degree in civil engineering or a TxDOT-approved operational business discipline; intend to work for TxDOT for two academic years immediately following receipt of an eligible degree from a Texas institution; not more than 30 days delinquent in providing child support. Internships: at least 16 years old (some positions may require 18); eligible to work in the United States; enrolled as a student at a high school, technical school, college, or university. Cooperative Education: at least 16 years old; eligible to work in the United States; submit a completed state employment application; be enrolled as a full-time student at a high school, technical school, college, or university the spring semester before the summer work period or be currently accepted for enrollment. High school co-op also requires enrollment in the school's co-op program. · Must be eligible to work in the United States. · Texas resident (Conditional Grant Program).
